About Mr. Kern:

Mr. Dwayne Kern is a native of Chalmette, LA. He received his teaching degree in social studies

in 1996 from the University of New Orleans. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana
University in 2004 where he earned his Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. He began his teaching career at Slidell Pathways School. From there, he went to Clearwood Junior High where he taught and coached football for 8 years.

In 2005, he became the assistant principal here at Madisonville Junior High. In 2011, Mr. Kern
was appointed principal here at MJH. He and his wife Kerry enjoy living in Madisonville with their beautiful daughter Katarina (Kat). While not devoting his time to Madisonville Junior High, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially taking Kat for strolls around his neighborhood. He feels very fortunate to be a part of such a strong community supported school that values what is best for our children.
